Kay Morland   (Australia)

IIW PRESIDENT

I’m an Australian, born in a Victorian country town on the banks of the Murray River and raised in a beachside suburb on the Mornington Peninsula. I am the proud mother of 4 and grandmother of 9.

On a professional level I worked in IT for 34 years in the corporate world before discovering that people were more fun to work with than machines and made the move to advertising becoming an Advertising Sales Consultant an occupation I enjoyed for over 14 years.

My community involvement outside of Inner Wheel (apart from the usual kindergarten and school committees and children’s sporting organisations):-

  • Past Vice President of the Board of Management of a local Community Learning Centre
  • Twice Mayoress of the City of Casey.
  • Past Vice President of the Board of Management of Casey North Community Information and Support Services.

Past Vice President of the Board of Management of Casey North Community Information and Support Services.

My IW Involvement to date:-

  • Became an IW members in 1994
  • Twice Club President
  • District Chairman
  • National Constitution Chairman
  • National President
  • National Representative
  • IIW Board Director
  • IIW Vice President

My Inner Wheel membership experience has been one of realisation, development and appreciation. To me, one of the most amazing things about IW apart from the friendship and support, is the opportunity for personal development available to each one of us particularly when we  step up and leading by example.

It happens all the time, a member who thinks they could never be club President  steps up,  takes on the role, grows into that role, flourishes and then  steps up  to take on a role in District and beyond.

I am humbled by and most grateful for the support of so many Inner Wheel members and for the opportunity to pay back to this wonderful organisation and serve as IIW President for the 2025-26 IW year.

With her belief in

‘Change, Challenge and Opportunity’

she rallies Inner Wheel members worldwide to unite in transforming challenges into opportunities for positive changes, with her mantra of reading

IMPOSSIBLE as I M POSSIBLE.

Dear Club President,

I extend my warmest congratulations to you on assuming the esteemed role of Club President and welcome all your members in this first year of our second century. You have the most important position in our organisation, since the Club and its members undertake various projects under your leadership and guidance. When a positive spirit comes alive in our clubs, we inspire our communities and when our communities are inspired by our service and presence, we inspire new members. It’s a powerful cycle.

We embark on our second century of service, with the theme for the year 2024-25 - Heartbeat of Humanity"-Every Beat Counts, Every Action Matters. We shall continue to breathe life into this commitment through a series of goals that align with the heartbeat of humanity, e.g.

  • CERVICAL CANCER PREVENTION: SAFE FUTURE -- Together, let us collaborate to raise awareness and vaccinate young girls. Target is 10 million girls 9-14 years.
  • E-CLUB: THE WAY FORWARD FOR INNER WHEEL -- Together, let us Adopt contemporary lifestyles and technological advancements and membership growth.
  • EACH ONE BRING ONE -- Together, let us embark on this journey of growth.
  • BRANDING: EXTEND OUR REACH -- by undertaking Permanent Projects and Leveraging Our Logo -- Together, let us be reckoned as a powerful brand.
  • ENVIRONMENT: SAVE EARTH -- Together, let's strive towards a clean, green world where nature thrives, ecosystems flourish, and future generations can enjoy the beauty and bounty of our planet.
  • HARNESSING NATURE'S GIFT: RAINWATER HARVESTING --Together, let us preserve the lifeline of our planet for generations to come.
  • ELDERLY CARE -- Together, let us uphold "Old is Gold" and ensure our elderly receive the love, care, and respect they deserve.
  • NURTURING ORPHANS -- Together, let us imagine a future where every child is cherished, protected, and empowered to pursue their dreams.

I urge upon all of you to embrace this theme wholeheartedly, weaving its melody into every aspect of your club's activities. Together, let us strive to make a positive impact on society through innovative and constructive projects that address the needs of our community.

I commend to you the priceless advice of noted anthropologist Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Yes, we have changed the world, and will continue to change it, in a positive way! Yes, we can do it! Yes, we will do it - together!

I would like to thank you all in advance for your sincere efforts, dedication towards the goals of the Inner Wheel Year 2024-25. I am sure your club members would become heartbeat of a large section of society.

With warm regards

Dear Esteemed District Chairman

I extend my warmest welcome and heartfelt congratulations to you for taking over as DC of your District in the first year of our second century of IW. As District Chairmen, you hold a significant role in facilitating communication, fostering a sense of belonging, and guiding your teams towards excellence. Remember that your leadership is not just about the present; it is about nurturing the leaders of tomorrow who will carry forward our vision. I encourage you to keep pushing the boundaries, embracing innovation, and promoting inclusivity. Let us work together to empower our members, strengthen our communities, and create a lasting legacy that will inspire generations to come.

The theme of the year is "Heartbeat of Humanity." Every Beat Counts, Every Action Matters. Everything we do with the essence of our shared humanity is to honour our uniqueness, embracing whatever comes on way. What matters to all of us is inclusion, kindness, honouring our past and building a present that serves the greater good.

I am always guided by the timeless wisdom found in the Bhagavad Gita, a sacred scripture that holds profound insights and teachings applicable to our lives, both individually and collectively. I would like to share some examples

  • Selfless Service: In the performance of one's duty, one should not be driven by personal gains or rewards. Instead, focus on serving others with dedication and compassion.
  • Resilience and Determination: Endurance and perseverance are the pillars of success. In the face of challenges, remain steadfast and committed to your goals.
  • Unity and Collaboration: Recognize that we are all interconnected. Work together harmoniously, for true strength lies in unity.
  • Embracing Change: Change is the law of the universe. Adapt and embrace it, for it paves the way for progress.
  • Leading by Example: Leadership is not about authority; it is about setting an example through one's actions.

Let us adopt these teachings and apply them in our journey with Inner Wheel during this new century and beyond. As we embrace this year’s theme, we are reaffirming our commitment to be a powerful force for good in the world. Lets’ take a pledge to remain the Humanity’s Heartbeat forever. With hearts overflowing with love and gratitude, let us embark on this journey with renewed vigour, knowing that together, as one Inner Wheel family, we can make a profound difference in the world.

I am sure under your guidance all your clubs and its members would excel in serving the humanity. Thank you all in advance for resonating in the hearts of humanity.
